a little more about our story
Carla grew up in a small town called El Colegio Cundinamarca, where her grandmother was a renowned chef of Colombian cuisine. She was a pillar of their community, serving up authentic Colombian dishes that were more than just food - they were a source of joy and a celebration of our culture.
She remember watching her in the kitchen, her hands deftly crafting each dish with love and precision. Her passion for food was infectious, and it was from her that I inherited my love for Colombian cuisine.
Carla's grandmother was not just a chef, she was a storyteller. Each dish she prepared was a story of our heritage, our traditions, and our love for food. She taught her that food is not just about sustenance, it's about bringing people together, creating memories, and spreading happiness. This philosophy is at the heart of 'la herradura coffee stable'. We aim to serve not just food and coffee, but also a slice of Colombian culture and a dash of happiness.
Starting 'la herradura coffee stable' is Carla's way of honouring her grandmother's legacy and sharing the rich flavours of Colombia with Australia.
We are more than just a cafe and restaurant - we are a celebration of Colombian culture, a place where people can come to enjoy authentic Colombian food and coffee, and experience a little bit of Colombia right here in Australia.
